Mike Griffith

President

Mike is President of Petersen Inc. in Ogden, UT, and of Major Tool and Machine in Indianapolis, IN. Mike filled the role as President at Petersen, Inc. upon their acquisition to Precinmac in April 2022. He joined Major Tool in May of 1994 upon graduating from IUPUI with a BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology through Purdue University. He has spent over 25 years working in various roles throughout the organization. This experience included an Engineering rotation that allowed him to gain invaluable experience as a machinist, welder, assembler, inspector and process engineer. The opportunity to learn the business at a grass roots level led to many professional leadership positions throughout his career and eventually to his appointment as President in January of 2018.

Casey Jones

Chief Financial Officer

As a Chief Financial Officer of Precinmac,  Casey is over their Large Format Division (Petersen Inc. and Major Tool & Machine). Casey is responsible for the overall financial strategy of the companies. Petersen’s financial strategy includes long-range financial planning to maximize the value of each employee owner’s share value, maintenance of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for financial reporting, and transparency to ensure the continued integrity of Petersen Inc.’s financial capabilities. Casey brings years of experience in managing financial activities to the Petersen Inc. team. As a licensed CPA in the state of Utah, Casey has a strong accounting background and skills related to cost management for government contracts and cash flow management. He began his career with a top tier fuel supplier and continued to gain experience in corporate cash management for a decade before becoming a CFO of a Utah steel corporation. Mr. Jones holds a B.A. in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration from Weber State University.

 

Justin Meehan

General Manager

Justin Meehan joined the Petersen Inc. team in 2024 as a seasoned leader with 20+ years of operational and business leadership in various manufacturing environments across the Industrial, Power Generation, Medical Device, and Life Science industries. He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo, a MS in Supply Chain Management from Pennsylvania State University, and has led in various roles across the General Electric and Danaher corporations. Justin has a passion for developing people, driving a vision that ensures sustainable business results, and leading with a core of continuous improvement that will ensure Petersen leads in company culture, customer satisfaction, business excellence, and strong community partnership.

Kim Steed

Executive Secretary

Kim has been a team member of Petersen Inc. since 1992, giving her nearly 3 decades of working in the Fabrication Industry. Kim started at Petersen Inc. as a payroll clerk and now oversees all administration of retirement and benefits as Executive Secretary. Kim is a key member of Petersen’s Ethics and Compliance Committee. Mrs. Steed graduated from Weber State University with a degree in Secretarial Science.

Josh Smith

Vice President of Manufacturing

Josh Smith joined the Petersen Inc. team in 2023 as Vice President over Manufacturing with nearly 20 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment. In this role, Josh leads and manages a wide array of projects and teams ensuring that manufacturing processes are safe and efficient, and that continuous process improvement are in place to reduce manufacturing costs. He also oversees all production operations so that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and on budget- and will meet the demands of Petersen customers. Josh received his bachelor’s degree in engineering technology from the University of Wisconsin- Stout, and his master’s degree from Marquette University.

Bart Anderson

Director of Continuous Improvement

Bart Anderson joined the Petersen Inc. team in 1999 and currently serves as the Vice President of Productivity. His background, experience, and education in manufacturing engineering makes him a key asset to the management team. His responsibilities include overseeing continuous improvement initiatives (such as “The Precinmac Way”) and ensuring that Petersen Inc. is reaching its full potential. He received his bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering from Brigham Young University.

Dan Coon

Director of Quality

Dan Coon joined the Petersen Inc. team in 2008 and has been promoted from Lead Inspector to Quality Supervisor, to Quality Manager, and now serves as Director of Quality. His vast experience in the Quality Assurance field has been instrumental in increasing the capabilities and performance of Petersen’s Inspection/QA/QC team.  As Director of Quality, Dan oversees all quality engineering, inspection, and documentation for projects as well as the implementation and maintenance of the NQA-1, ASME Boiler,  Pressure Vessel Code, ISO, and AS9100 quality systems and codes.

Scott Sugimoto

Director of Estimating

Scott Sugimoto has over 25 years of manufacturing experience including fitter/welder, machinist, process planner, estimator, estimating manager, and is now serving as Director of Estimating. This vast experience and hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes make him an integral member of the management team. Scott was also instrumental in the development and implementation of an estimating application developed specifically for Petersen Inc.

Nick Davis

Director of Supply Chain

Nick Davis, Director of Supply Chain, joined Petersen’s with experience in MRP, freight plan optimization, supply chain planning, procurement, and inventory management. Nick received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Utah and has his ASCM certification in planning and inventory management. His areas of expertise include forecasting, inventory control, and continuous improvement.

Tyler Cassidy

Director of Engineering

Tyler Cassidy serves as the Director of Engineering at Petersen’s, where he leads the Design Engineering and Customer Focus Teams. In this role, he is dedicated to developing innovative methods, processes, and procedures aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, minimizing failures, and reducing manufacturing costs. Tyler holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

Chris Mabey

Director of EHS

Chris Mabey, Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety for Petersen Inc. has over 30 years of EHS leadership from various industry sectors.  Chris has developed and lead high performing teams in the development and execution of safety and risk management programs that have yielded substantial reductions in injuries and claim costs. Chris graduated from Utah State University with a Degree in Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Health and holds his Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designations

Frank Shaw

Senior Project Engineer

Frank has been a valued team member at Petersen Inc. since 1988.   His leadership and management skills over the last 25 plus years makes him a valuable asset to all areas of the company. Frank understands the needs of all sides of the business and has experience in both the estimating and purchasing sides of Petersen Inc. Originally from the Ogden area, Frank attended Utah State University where he received both his Bachelor’s degree and his Master’s degree and is a “True Aggie” basketball fan – having played on the USU Men’s Basketball Varsity Team.

Casey Jones
