Turning
Turning machines, or lathes, are just one of the many machining capabilities that allow us to create the highest quality parts for every project.
We offer a wide variety of turning centers ranging from 1-inch to 15-feet in diameter, 10-feet under-the-rail (CNC). Petersen Inc. machines parts for many highly-specialized industries with exact part specifications, and can meet the needs of these companies with the use of turning centers, lathes and other machines at all facilities.
Small
Petersen Inc.’s small precision machining facility is equipped with over 17 turning centers, envelope size ranging from 0-14 inches in diameter. Many of these machines are equipped with bar feeding capabilities with up to 11-inch hollow spindles.
While Petersen Inc. is intimately familiar with common tool steels and aluminum, it is no stranger to exotic materials.

We also offer journeyman experience throughout our machining facilities as well as experienced in-house programmers. The machines are housed in clean, climate controlled facilities to ensure high quality parts.
Mid-range
Petersen Inc. offers midrange turning capabilities from 36 to 60 inches. We are capable of handling parts up to 10 feet long, and our chuck sizes range from 12 to 25 inches. We also offer journeyman experience throughout our machining facilities as well as experienced in-house programmers.
The machines are housed in clean, climate controlled facilities to ensure high quality parts.
Large
Our large turning capabilities range from 8 to 15 feet in diameter and are capable of handling parts 10 feet under the rail. Our large turning machines have up to 20 ton overhead crane capacity to assist in safe loading and unloading of large weldments and/or subassemblies.
